Spencer Fane attorney Stephanie Lovett-Bowman recently discussed the firm’s 2024 Summer Associate class – the largest in firm history – in a feature Law360 interview.
In her chat with reporter Emma Cueto, Stephanie explained the program’s expansion is a natural result of firm growth. Through a widening footprint that has touched new geographic and industry markets, more Spencer Fane offices can “potentially provide a lifelong career opportunity” to current law students.
Stephanie also discussed the firm’s overall strategic approach, which prioritizes the retention of top talent that “represent[s] the communities where we have offices” to meet the goals of both its professionals and clients: “We’re thinking about what the business needs of the firm are, as far as demand we have from clients and opportunities to grow the firm as a whole,” she said. “But at the talent level, we’re always thinking very strategically about where we have steady workflow that we can offer to new lawyers.”
At Spencer Fane, Stephanie is a litigator and counselor who specializes in advising educational institutions and other employers to resolve disputes and implement best practices to avoid risk. Her wide breadth of experience also includes conducting internal and outside investigations, regularly representing clients in administrative proceedings and lawsuits, providing counsel on sensitive employee issues, and successfully arguing appeals. She also co-leads the firm’s Summer Associate Program alongside fellow attorney Heather Morris.
