Spencer Fane Client Development Manager Bernadette Lawson has recently been recognized as a 2024 Diversity & Inclusion Honoree by Missouri Lawyers Media.
The program, now in its seventh year, is recognizing one law firm; two law firm diversity, equity and inclusion committees; 12 individual attorneys; and three DEI professionals. The honorees are those “who are significantly advancing diversity, inclusion and the dignity of all people in Missouri’s legal profession and in communities in which exceptional legal work impacts justice for all.”
Bernadette and her fellow honorees will be featured at an August 8 virtual event.
At Spencer Fane, Bernadette sits on the firm’s 10-person DEI Committee, where she works in collaboration with the Executive Committee and other firm leadership, assisting efforts by providing educational opportunities for attorneys and professional staff, measuring and monitoring each success and challenge, investing in formal and informal mentorship, and supporting attorneys and professional staff with a dedicated budget. She is a member of the leadership committee for the firm’s BOND (Black Opportunities to Network and Discover) connect group. Bernadette also serves as the marketing liaison to the DEI Committee, and its Connect Groups, BOND, Spencer Fane+, and Women ADVOCATE.
In her role as a CDM, she advances client development for the firm’s employee benefits; government relations; labor and employment; and tax, trusts, and estates practice groups.
