Overview
Ayesha Mehdi, Esq., is a respected health care attorney based in Las Vegas with extensive experience in regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters. As a partner with Spencer Fane’s health care group, she advises health care professionals and closely-held businesses on corporate, regulatory, and licensure issues, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
A trusted advisor, she provides strategic guidance on key health care legal matters such as fraud and abuse prevention, Stark Law, anti-kickback statutes, corporate practice of medicine, and reimbursement issues. Skilled in contract negotiation and dispute resolution, she also counsels practitioners, pharmacies, home health providers, and management service organizations on Nevada licensing, Board regulations, and compliance with state and federal standards—ensuring clients meet regulatory requirements and maintain operational efficiency.
Ayesha holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with honors in Finance from Walsh College of Accountancy and Finance in Michigan, a Master’s in Health Services Administration, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas, where she serves on the Law School’s Board of Governors. She is currently pursuing an LLM in National and Global Health Law from Georgetown University’s O’Neill Institute, recognized as a premier program in health law worldwide, while continuing her responsibilities at Spencer Fane.
A sought-after speaker, she shares her insights at regional and national seminars for both legal and health care associations. She has chaired the American Bar Association Health Law Section’s Fraud and Compliance Interest Group and remains actively involved with the American Health Law Association, which selected her for its prestigious Leadership Development Program in 2019.
