In his article, Clearing the Hurdles to Financing an Acquisition, Brian provided tips to lenders for successfully financing complex transactions. He outlined different types of transactions, emphasized the importance of due diligence and documentation, and provided action items for post-closing.
Brian explained: “For the most part, the due diligence and loan documentation for financing a business being acquired is the same as financing a business with continuous ownership. The purchase and sale component, however, adds additional parties and complexity to the overall transaction.”
