Spencer Fane attorney Christine Chasse spoke at the Dallas Bar Association Science & Technology Section’s hybrid CLE event on March 24.
During her presentation, An Overview of Artificial Intelligence Bias in Health Care, Christine examined how biased algorithms can perpetuate inequities in the health care industry as reliance on AI increases. She discussed the current lack of regulation in the field, how biased algorithms have already harmed minority communities, and the limitations of AI. Both in-person and virtual attendees gained new insights for navigating the “brave new world” of artificial intelligence.
Christine will give the same presentation the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section Medicine and Law Committee Monthly Meeting on April 15.
At Spencer Fane, Christine utilizes her extensive front-line health care experience to assess and successfully resolve professional liability claims and CMS investigations for hospital systems and providers. She also guides her clients with regulatory and compliance enforcement actions and advises on technological issues including cybersecurity, data privacy, artificial intelligence, and cyber incident response matters such as actual or potential HIPAA breaches and data security incidents.
