Spencer Fane attorney Kelly Campbell will join the Workplace Safety and Corporate Responsibility panel for the CLE event, Theatre and the Law: “Radium Girls” on March 30 at the Powerhouse Theatre in Independence, Missouri.
Presented by City Theatre of Independence and UMKC Law School CLE, this dual performance and panel offers a unique educational experience. Attendees will enjoy refreshments and experience a live performance of “Radium Girls,” which tells the story of female laborers in the early 20th century who entered a legal battle with their employer after being poisoned and killed by their factory’s radium-based paint. Following is a discussion centered on the legal battles surrounding workplace safety, corporate accountability, and toxic tort litigation. Kelly and her fellow panelists will examine how the legal system responds to workplace safety concerns. Topics include workers’ compensation, labor rights, corporate responsibility, and class action lawsuits, with insights into both historical and modern implications.
At the firm, Kelly is a trial attorney who helps her clients make the best decisions to reach their business goals.
