Spencer Fane attorneys Laurie Patton and J.B. Fishman will present a webinar for the Federal Bar Association and MyLawCLE on January 22.
Their program, Texas Business Courts: Opportunities and Challenges for Business Disputes, will provide a comprehensive look at the recently created Texas Business Courts – specialty trial courts intended to expedite and improve proceedings for matters such as large contract disputes, fiduciary duty claims, and other entity governance issues. The team will outline the creation, structure, jurisdiction, and procedural rules for these courts and provide practical considerations for businesses and their legal counsel.
At Spencer Fane, Laurie and J.B. provide integral legal services to clients as part of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group. Laurie represents companies and individuals in a wide range of commercial litigation matters and employment disputes, helping her clients identify and minimize potential risks and liabilities. J.B. – part of the firm’s 2024 Fall Associate class – has kick-started his career with achievements such as externing and interning with federal magistrate and state district judges and being the first-ever student to be named a fellow of the Southern Methodist University Civil Litigation Clinic while still in school.
