Spencer Fane attorney Kersten Holzhueter is a featured speaker for the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC)’s annual Midyear Meeting on February 9-14 in Dana Point, California.

On February 12, Kersten will co-present the session, Winning the War For Talent: Finding, Developing, and Keeping Future Firm and In-House Leaders, which will provide guidance for nurturing legal professionals in the rapidly shifting landscape for the work environment. She and her fellow panelists will speak about (1) building and managing teams across multiple offices, job titles, and generations; (2) identifying and supporting promising individuals in taking on and thriving in leadership roles; and (3) taking into account and supporting diverse lawyers, lawyers with significant family support obligations such as child and elder care, and neurodiverse lawyers.

The panel is part of the event’s extensive programming that fosters both business development and connection. The conference advances the IADC’s mission to serve and benefit its members, the legal profession, and the civil justice system by enhancing the development of skills, professionalism, diversity, and camaraderie.

At Spencer Fane, Kersten co-leads the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group. As a full-service litigator for financial services companies, she defends a wide range of claims asserted against financial institutions, including class actions. These cases typically relate to consumer protection statutes, credit reporting, deposit account terms and conditions, bank fees, loan agreements, guaranties, forged and altered items, and defaulted municipal bonds.

Recently, Kersten was also named a Spencer Fane Talent Team Lead, an additional leadership role under the firm’s new organizational structure.
