Daniel Chung Leads Firm Involvement for November KABANC Events

December 9, 2024

Spencer Fane attorney and Korean American Bar Association of Northern California (KABANC) Vice President Daniel Chung recently helped drive the success of two KABANC events with the support of fellow firm colleagues.

On November 16, the organization held its Pro Bono Clinic in San Francisco at the Full Gospel SF Korean Church. Various community members received free legal advice on issues ranging from government benefits to immigration. Daniel and other KABANC lawyers and law students led the event, with Spencer Fane attorney Elaisha Nandrajog helping sponsor food and drinks for the volunteers.

The following week, Daniel organized KABANC’s 2nd Annual Judges Panel, a special event featuring the insights of three federal court and one state court judge on the panel: Judge Eumi Lee (U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California), Magistrate Judge Sallie Kim (U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California), Chief Magistrate Judge Donna Ryu (U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California), and Judge Frederick Chung (Superior Court of California for Santa Clara County). Special guests included U.S. Attorney Izzy Ramsey, Magistrate Judge Peter Kang, two judges from South Korea, and members of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in San Francisco. Spencer Fane sponsored the event after-party with generous funding from attorneys Stephen Pahl, Catherine Schlomann Robertson, and Lisa Tracy.

At the firm, Daniel is an experienced trial attorney who helps clients through all stages of litigation. A former criminal prosecutor in New York City and Silicon Valley, he adeptly navigates high-stakes investigations, cases, motions, hearings, and trials. He is also an active, dedicated member of his local community who holds leadership roles not just in KABANC but also in the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley.
