Robyn Nordin Stowell and Shawn Tuma Provide Cybersecurity Advice in BoardRoom Magazine

Spencer Fane attorneys Robyn Nordin Stowell and Shawn Tuma authored a feature article for BoardRoom Magazine’s September/October 2024 issue.

The piece, Cybersecurity Tips for Private Clubs: Protecting Your Members and Operations, explores the evolving threat of cybercrime and how private clubs can meet such challenges and enhance protective measures for their members. Robyn and Shawn emphasized the importance of risk assessments, data governance, regulatory compliance, incident response plans, cyber insurance, and ongoing education.

“Cybersecurity is an ongoing challenge for private clubs that requires attention and resources. The board has a fiduciary duty to ensure that cyber risks are addressed,” they said. “By understanding the unique risks, implementing robust security measures, and fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness, clubs can protect their members and employees and ongoing club operations.”
