Overview

Jason Smith represents individuals and corporate clients in a wide variety of commercial, contract, business, tort, and civil litigation matters in state and federal courts, including matters before the Nevada Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He takes pride in establishing trust and rapport through a detailed approach to outlining and understanding clients’ needs and expectations, resulting in secure, long-lasting relationships.

Jason approaches each matter with a collaborative, strategic approach to achieve desired results. His expansive portfolio of client work includes handling matters involving commercial contracts, landlord / tenant disputes (residential and commercial), personal guarantees, corporate governance disputes, partnership and limited liability entity disputes, shareholder derivative actions, tort, real estate, professional malpractice and liability, defamation, business disparagement, mechanic’s liens, employment discrimination, premises liability, and medical malpractice.

Additionally, Jason has assisted out-of-state firms as local counsel in numerous matters, including intellectual property litigation, shareholder derivative cases, and class action matters in state and federal courts.

Jason was notably a member and captain of the University of Iowa Hawkeye basketball team that won the 2001 Big Ten Tournament Championship. He was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, and was selected as the team’s representative on the university’s Student-Athlete Advisory Board.
