Spencer Fane attorney Daniel Chung recently helped organize a celebration following the U.S. Senate’s confirmation of Judge Eumi K. Lee to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The event was hosted by the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA) of Silicon Valley and supported by the Korean American Bar Association of Northern California (KABANC), for which Daniel holds the titles of social & community co-chair and vice president, respectively.
Judge Lee served as a clinical professor at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, for over a decade before becoming the first Korean American judge ever appointed to the Alameda County Superior Court, her most recent position. Her confirmation to serve as a federal judge was celebrated at the el PRADO Hotel in Palo Alto, California, where dozens of attorneys, judges, law students, and community members gathered to support and congratulate Judge Lee. The event was also notably attended by Judge Lucy Koh, the first Korean American woman to serve on a U.S. federal appellate court.
As APABA Silicon Valley’s social & community co-chair and KABANC’s vice president, Daniel coordinates and hosts networking events and other social gatherings to further the interests and strengthen the community of Asian American, Pacific American, and other diverse individuals in the legal industry. His critical work has helped shape legal diversity initiatives in California and beyond.
At the firm, Daniel is an experienced trial attorney who helps clients through all stages of litigation. A former criminal prosecutor in New York City and Silicon Valley, he adeptly navigates high-stakes investigations, cases, motions, hearings, and trials.
