Spencer Fane is pleased to announce attorney Bill Hopkins has been named a 2024 mentor for The New Philanthropists’ Board Mentors of Color Program.
The New Philanthropists is an Austin-based organization that cultivates diversity, equity, and inclusion values on nonprofit boards in order for leaders of color to gain access and opportunity into board service. Their Board Mentors of Color Program matches up to 30 new and experienced board members of color with 8-10 established community leaders to provide opportunities to develop leadership skills, build and deepen community relationships, and gain support in navigating Austin nonprofit boards.
“I’m looking forward to this opportunity to work with new and young leaders and help them achieve great things in Austin and with the nonprofit communities,” Bill said of his appointment.
At Spencer Fane, Bill serves as Office Managing Partner for the firm’s Austin office. As an attorney, he helps to protect health care providers and health care companies against the many potential pitfalls in the industry, serving as both an advocate and educator for his clients in administrative law, regulatory defense, compliance, and litigation. Bill also serves on the Spencer Fane DEI Committee and has held board leadership positions for community organizations such as E4 Youth, Inc., American Red Cross – Central Texas Chapter, People’s Community Clinic Foundation, and more.
