Spencer Fane attorney Charles W. Bone recently appeared in the August 11 edition of the Nashville Business Journal. Profiled as the 2023 Best of Bar Lifetime Achievement honoree, he served as the cover story for the publication.
The article features quotes from Charles’ colleagues and notes some of his major career and personal highlights. “[Charles] was a leader in the campaign that defeated the 2009 ‘English only’ referendum in Nashville, an adviser for Al Gore, and was responsible for the release of Cyntoia Brown, a juvenile convicted of murder in a high-profile case,” said reporter Sophia Young.
The piece also includes insights from Charles himself on topics such as diversity and inclusion, the business and political landscape of Nashville, and his passion for civic engagement.
“I think growing up in the ’60s was a very turbulent time for lots of things going on in America. The Civil Rights Movement was very important to me,” Charles shared. “It was something that I spent a lot of time thinking about and becoming pretty convicted about in terms of the way civil rights matters were being handled in America.”
