Spencer Fane is pleased to announce that four of the firm’s staff members have recently passed the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Certification Program. Stephen Flanery, Nikki Hoff, Nicole Miller, and Vicki Scruggs are now MHFA-certified.
MHFA is a public education program that introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health challenges, builds an understanding of their impact, and provides an overview of appropriate supports. Through a day-long course preceded by over six hours of mandatory preparation, Stephen, Nikki, Nicole, and Vicki learned how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders.
At Spencer Fane, Stephen and Nicole design, plan, and implement human resources programs and policies. Nikki and Vicki serve as regional office managers, based in Denver and Nashville, respectively, who support their offices through a wide variety of administrative and operational services. With their new credential, each of these professionals joins Spencer Fane in prioritizing mental health through HR-led initiatives and employee benefits offerings.
