Spencer Fane attorney Helen Holden will present at the Arizona Society for Human Resource Management (AZSHRM) Employment Law & Legislative Conference (ELLC) February 17 in Phoenix.
For her presentation, Employee or Independent Contractor … and Other Wage and Hour Developments, Helen will discuss a rule proposed by the U.S. Department of Labor that redefines if an individual is an employee or contractor under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). During two back-to-back sessions, Helen will provide an overview of the proposed rule and the various tests and relevant factors to consider when classifying workers as independent contractors under the FLSA, and address current developments regarding compliance with wage and hour regulations.
Helen’s sessions are part of the ELLC’s two-day programming, which aims to help Arizona HR professionals stay on top of recent court decisions, regulations, and newly enacted legislation relevant to their profession. This year’s event will take place at the Desert Willow Conference Center.
