Many school districts use salary schedules to determine their employees’ pay, with employees moving in lockstep on the schedule each year. In many states, school districts are required to follow this process.
During the presentation, Joe and Sam will discuss the salary schedule process and how it can lead to claims under the federal Equal Pay Act or under federal or state laws prohibiting employment discrimination as well as what school administrators can do to avoid these types of claims.
