Spencer Fane is pleased to announce attorney DeAndrea Washington has been selected by Texas Lawyer as a lawyer “On the Rise” as part of the 2022 Texas Legal Excellence Awards, which honor Texas lawyers recognized as influential innovators who demonstrate strong leadership qualities and legal prowess.
DeAndrea is among a select group of lawyers under the age of 40 who have wielded influence in their practice areas in Texas and beyond. The annual Texas Legal Excellence Awards are presented by ALM Media’s Texas Lawyer and highlight the outstanding work and achievements across the full breadth of the Texas legal community.
At Spencer Fane, DeAndrea focuses her practice on a variety of labor employment litigation matters. She provides preventive counsel and litigates employment disputes on behalf of public and private employers in federal and state courts, arbitration, and before administrative agencies, such as the Texas Workforce Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the United States Department of Labor.
DeAndrea advocates for DEI in the legal field and is a respected voice in the firm’s leadership, currently serving as a DEI advisor to the Spencer Fane Executive Committee and a member of the DEI Committee. She believes strongly in the advancement of women and minorities in the legal industry and uses her platform to improve the firm and the Houston business community.
