Spencer Fane attorney Ruthie White was recently quoted in an article for the Houston Business Journal about the COVID-19 vaccine mandate enacted by the White House.
Titled “When should employers expect White House vaccine mandate? Houston lawyer weighs in,” the article outlines the federal mandate and how it will impact employers. Ruthie explained that employers of 100 or more should prepare to implement a vaccine mandate, noting that there may be medical or religious exemptions.
“In federal [Equal Employment Opportunity] laws, for instance, there’s nothing that prevents employers from mandating vaccinations,” Ruthie explained in the article. “For those who want to mandate the vaccinations, I think this mandate gives them a little bit more meat, in addition to the full approval for the Pfizer vaccine.”
