Spencer Fane attorney Mary Bacon recently published an article in Construction Executive highlighting the risks associated with sending informal communications in the construction industry.
Titled “The Dangers of Sending Informal Project Communications,” the article discusses the importance of avoiding casual communications to reduce liability concerns and scenarios where these interactions occur on project sites.
“Construction projects often result in litigation,” Mary explained in the article. “[Informal] communications do not belong in the workplace and can create a hostile work environment.”
Mary also emphasized ways to avoid these situations, noting that project communication policies should be implemented.
