Spencer Fane attorney Robin Nolan was recently interviewed for Law Week Colorado on property valuations and taxes in Colorado.
Titled “Pandemic Brings Unpredictability for Commercial Property Assessments,” Robin underscores the uncertainties in property appraisals caused by the pandemic.
“We were living in the great days of 2019, with property values going up — both non-residential and residential values. And then COVID hit…I would expect that non-residential owners would probably be surprised when they receive their valuation because there’s been such an up and down for values,” Robin explained in the article.
As for residential property owners, Robin emphasized that they are less likely to be surprised since real estate prices have increased rapidly in the Denver metro and across Colorado.
