Spencer Fane attorneys Carly Duvall and Patrick McAndrews were recently honored with Missouri Lawyers Weekly’s Top Legal Innovation Award for Emerging Practice Areas.
The Top Legal Innovation Awards celebrate excellence in legal innovation across the state by recognizing attorneys, firms, and businesses whose progressive work drives new practice areas, services, and business strategies. The Emerging Practice Areas category salutes firms or attorneys that identify and support a practice area in an emerging legal field and are among the first to develop expertise, and Carly and Patrick were recognized for their work as co-founders of the Spencer Fane Startup Lab during the past year.
Once every quarter, Startup Lab selects a startup company in the Kansas City region and offers a full suite of legal services, monthly mentoring meetings, and introductions to larger established companies in the region that may be interested in strategic partnerships for a period of three months. Participants in the program so far include Helix Health, TravelHive, Biin, and Highploom.
