Spencer Fane attorney Paul Jacobson recently published an article in Risk Management Monitor discussing the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) guidance on COVID-19- related issues.
Titled “OSHA Revises Stance on COVID-19 Record-Keeping and Enforcement,” Paul’s article details the requirements for determining if cases of COVID-19 are work-related, and OSHA’s policy for handling COVID-19-related complaints, referrals, and severe illness reports.
“Employers should bear in mind that the negative consequences of choosing not to comply with OSHA’s record-keeping and reporting requirements often outweigh the potential negative consequences of bringing injuries and illnesses to OSHA’s attention,” Paul explained in the article.
