Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce its expansion into the Austin market with the addition of Partner Cheryl Burtzel, who will open the firm’s fourth Texas office and add new depth to the data privacy and cybersecurity practice.

Burtzel works with clients in the commercial, financial, utility, health care, and technology industries on matters involving privacy, cybersecurity, sales and distribution, government contracts, and procurement. She serves as Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association Cyberspace Law Committee, and previously worked as in-house counsel and legal director for a Fortune 50 company. Additionally, Burtzel has managed research for university institutions and handled government contracts, health care industry compliance, and technology matters for clients. She earned her undergraduate degrees and Juris Doctor from the University of Texas.
